Raptor Domes™ & DADUs
Yes, this would qualify as a DADU if it was sitting on permanent foundation according to the Seattle city government site.
Here is what a DADU – DETACHED ACCESSORY DWELLING UNIT – is according to their regulations:
“A legally permitted unit in the home is called an attached accessory dwelling unit (AADU). A legally permitted unit on the property (but not within the home) is called a detached accessory dwelling unit (DADU) or backyard cottage. Tiny houses, with foundations, are considered DADUs.”
Seattle isn’t the only city recognizing DADUs as I have heard California cities are big on DADUs.
I have not checked to see if my Raptor Domes™ would be acceptable here; however I know RECTANGULAR AND SQUARE structures do. Why CIRCULAR ones don’t is beyond my comprehension. Most likely because the housing code folks in Franklin, North Carolina never took a geometry class! 😂😂😂😂😂
